Phoenix Expo

Image
First day of the AZ Ultimate Women's Expo! This is my first expo this year, and Ethan and Jeremy's second. Ethan is helping us this year which is amazing, since the push is further than the last 3 years at this center. We are relieved. Today went well. We set the main stage, and saved the five breakout stages for tomorrow. It made a huge difference to not have to rush. Ethan built the truss, and towers. Total help! The Phoenix Convention center is as to be expected. The security at the dock is always a little hyper. We met several Convention Center employees that have never shown their faces in the past. Kinda strange. We went to Oreganos and ate everything afterwards cause, well, we were starving. Sweet potatoe fries are my jam. Yes po-ta-toe is spelled with an "e". Never gonna change that! Funny thing about yesterday. Yesterday the "Unicorn Frappuccino"  came out at Starbucks for only four days. I got one of course cause  I like fun. I l...

The Surface of Bike Week

Image
I wanted to post every single day, but failed!!! But I'm back at it today. This last week everyday I sat down in front of the computer is was to update our social media pages with something from Bike Week. The band opened for Alice Cooper and played as his band. The whole experience was significant for me because usually Jeremy and I tag team these events. This time I was on my own. Jeremy and Ethan went to Austin for the first of the Expos. At the same time we had a show going on out in Goodyear; The Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival, so I was REALLY on my own. I worked my ass off for 22 hours, but it was totally worth it. The band sounded, and looked great, the crew was amazing, the staff of Bike Week was very accommodating, and the fans were off the hook. For the band I provide hospitality, coordinate with the venue, coordinate with the sound company (which is usually us), coordinate with our photographers, organize merchandise, and generally take care of everything the b...

Look at Those Snappers

I love Romancing the Stone. I love the sound track. It's one song played over and over in different ways. When I was little my babysitters had a laser disk player and this movie is one they had. I was four, and I still remember us watching it over and over; always confused by the love scene. This movie makes me feel grounded. It is like a long lost friend. I happy to be sitting here tonight watching it, even though I burned my popcorn. Today was a huge day getting ready for our band to play Arizona Bike Week.  I'm over prepared right now for this show...but it's worth it. I also grabbed tickets for a show in July our band is playing. Always pushing. I have faith in my friends, and faith in our business. That is why I keep pushing. That, and 90 grand in student loans. I shipped a microphone to Austin for Jeremy. He and Ethan made it to their cute air bnb I set up.  So far away ;( I stopped by Minder Binders for a quick dinner with my parents and their...

The Start of Expo Season

Image
Like the title says, it is the very first day of Expo season for our company. We have 15 Expo's slated till the end of the year. I'm excited, and torn cause I stayed behind on this one, leading me to start the blog for the rest of the year!!!! Actually all I hear in my head is "Man down! Eleven thirty: pimp in distress!" from Katt Williams, aka Money Mike in Friday After Next.  It's on repeat in my head. It's how I feel being here alone. Jeremy and Ethan left for Austin this morning, and I stayed here in Tempe to manage our band, CO-OP, as they play Arizona Bike Week this weekend. I'll be busy, but I hate having to talk to myself! Sometimes she doesn't like me. I've never been to Austin. I got Ethan and Jeremy hooked up in a sweet air bnb. Decided to pay more for this trip, and less on the next one. I also think I may be having a mid life crisis, and I am ok with that, for now. People tend to have 8 second attention spans, so each p...
